Terraformer Personal Log – Sara Reed
Mars Alpha Station was the first station fully equipped to terraform Mars. Six years of modular construction. Six-month rotations for build crews—twenty-four teams of six. A finely tuned handoff: Earth to Mars, crew to crew. Now, the building’s done.
Now it’s our turn.
The terraformers. My team. My mission.
In twenty minutes, we’ll dock with Alpha.
Day One – Alpha Station Terraform Log
Earth Date: 17-5-2215
Log Entry 001: Sara Reed, Lead Specialist, Terraform Unit 1
Entry was without incident. Briefing held. Assignments issued. We’re a tight, curated team—experts in bio-soil conversion, mycology, mineral enrichment.
0800 tomorrow, we begin.
Initial task: soil sampling and analysis for bacterial affinity gradients. A small step, but foundational.
No further notes.

After the debrief, Sara wandered the station alone. She didn’t need a map. She knew Alpha—knew her like a beloved machine. Seeing her fully built, breathing her filtered air. It was magic.
No AI nav. No handrails needed. She drifted down familiar corridors, touching panels like checking the pulse of an old friend.
But on Sublevel 2, Section 3, something felt… off.
